KL Orthosports continues to strengthen its role in stem cell collaboration in Malaysia through a Memorandum of Agreement with Celler Therapeutics Sdn Bhd, signed on 24 April 2025. The event took place at the Chancellor Tuanku Ja’afar Medical Education Complex, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Kuala Lumpur. Importantly, this milestone reflects a shared commitment to advancing regenerative medicine in Malaysia.
At the same time, the collaboration supported the official launch of the Malaysian Stem Cell Awareness Network. This national initiative focuses on improving public understanding of stem cell therapy and its clinical applications.
Through this stem cell collaboration in Malaysia, KL Orthosports and Celler Therapeutics aim to expand access to safe and evidence-based regenerative care. In particular, the partnership supports treatment development for osteoarthritis, cartilage injuries, and joint degeneration.
Moreover, the Malaysian Stem Cell Awareness Network plays a vital educational role. By raising awareness, it helps patients make informed decisions about stem cell therapies. As a result, public trust and clinical transparency continue to improve.

The event was attended by senior representatives from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz. Their presence highlighted strong academic and clinical support for regenerative medicine.
Notably, Dato’ Dr Badrul Akmal Hisham Md. Yusoff, Executive Director of KL Orthosports, plays a central role in this initiative. As a UKM clinician-scientist, he actively integrates research into daily clinical practice. Consequently, patients benefit from treatments grounded in scientific evidence.

One of the key highlights was a video presentation titled “The Second Chance.” The video illustrated how stem cell therapy may support recovery in osteoarthritis patients. In doing so, it symbolised renewed hope for individuals with chronic joint pain.
Following this, the media session featured patient testimonials. These real-life experiences demonstrated how regenerative treatments can restore mobility and quality of life when applied responsibly.
As a research-driven orthopaedic and sports medicine clinic, KL Orthosports remains committed to advancing stem cell collaboration in Malaysia. We do this through education, research, and responsible clinical practice.
Ultimately, by combining academic rigour with personalised care, we aim to shape the future of regenerative orthopaedics in the region.
